Today's two challenges were fun and easy to combine. I started off by searching my stamp catalog for "face". Most of the stamps that I've tagged with "face" are like Lawn Fawn sets with faces that you can stamp onto food and such. But after I scrolled a bit, I came to this Jane Davenport set that I've never actually used. To satisfy the F4A Hearts challenge, I decided I could stamp her on a die cut heart and have a fun sentiment inside the heart. So the next thing I did was go looking for a fun joke for my card. I've been meaning to use this one: "They say 40 is the new 30 and 50 is the new 40. All I know is the older I get, the more 9 PM is the new midnight." So I printed that out. But I printed it too big and I couldn't fit both the sentiment and the face in the heart. I solved that by cutting the sentiment into strips. This stamp set has a kind of textured/solid face shaped stamp, so I stamped that with DOX ink and then stamped the face over it with Versafine Clair. But it needed a bit more color, which I filled in with some watercolor markers. I used so many different kinds of inks and markers, it was already mixed media, but I dug through my background drawer for some fun backgrounds. That's when I realized I need to start using up some backgrounds--I can hardly close/open the drawer. Two down, many more to go. I added some script stamping over the backgrounds and then rubbed some of my dried up old Nuvo mousse along the edges.
