This card is for the Alpha Challenge E. I am enjoying these challenges as they are taking me down memory lane. I am being literal with my take on the locations but whenever I think of a letter I always lean towards a place we have visited.
Ah Egypt. When I turned 50 I was going through many challenges and focusing on other things than my own self care. Someone asked me what I wanted to do when I turned 50. My reply was to visit Egypt. When I was small I always wanted to be an archeologist. I watched the movie Desert Song so many times with my mum and I dreamed of being whisked across the desert LOL. I never did follow my childhood dream but I do love history and artefacts.
So there I was 50 years old and we could not afford to go to Egypt, but we did. We managed to find the funds and did a wonderful Insight Vacation tour starting in Cairo; a cruise on the Nile; high tea at The Cataract Hotel where Agatha Christie stayed and sailing on a felucca on the Nile. The highlight of the trip was a day tour of Abu Simbel. I cannot describe how wonderful the whole trip was, and although we have travelled to many countries since, this was definitely a trip of a lifetime for me.
My page will probably go into an album on Egypt which I still have to create. I created the BG using tape, paste, ledger paper and stencilling. It originally was coated in TH distress inks but did not quite capture the look I wanted, so I painted over it in black and gold.
The stickers are from a book I have had for years. I do have books on Egypt but could not bring myself to tear those up.
I wanted more gold on the stickers so added gold stickles. I am not entirely happy with this page but for now it will do.
TFL. Happy day

Wow, you came up with some wonderful images for Egypt! It's been fun traveling the world in everyone's creative images. I thought this was going to be a tough theme to follow this year, but wow, have I loved all the wonderful ways we are seeing places in the world in our creative imaginations.
