Here is my entry for Sabrina's Technique challenge this week. I embossed a piece of white CS after blending 3 different distress inks over it. On the debossed side I gently applied black Archival ink. The embossing wasn't very deep so I had trouble keeping the ink out of the pattern. A different applicator and better CS might have helped with that.

I certainly do, as it was the one art thing I felt good about when I was a child. I think it's why I love backgrounds and other mixed media ideas. Stunning card.

I think I still have that embossing folder. It looks lovely with those bright colours. I certainly found it easiest with a firm inkpad, but I noticed the second video link used a foam applicator.

I love how your bright colors flow across the card so beautifully! Then using that wonderful pink on the sentiment is just perfect! What a pretty, pretty card!

I remember that childhood technique too. I loved crafting as a kid. I, too, love the bright vibrant colors you used here and how they really pop with the black bg. I got ink in the debossed areas my first try as well, but so did the folks on the video. Sabrina suggested a firmer maybe linen pad. So I pulled out my different types of pads and tried them all. I had the best luck with Distress Oxides. Beautiful card that is sure to brighten someone's day.
