Thank you Chrissy, for the simple sketch, I say that in the most kind way. It is so good to just 'stay within the lines' every once and awhile.
I love the negative cuts that dies make. They can be more effective than the actual orientation. Here I used a vibrant wintery red BasicGrey for the Merry Christmas. The uber cool early yellow for the background sure hits the spot, wouldn't you say?
The poinsettia was die cut three times and colored with gel markers as well as bit's of inks. I fussy cut the flowers to build some depth. Their centers were give micro mini beads in yellow for texture.
Thanks for stopping by...can't wait to see the gallery. Merry Christmas!

This is stunning, Susan, and so classic! I'm glad you appreciated the simplistic approach I took to the sketch this go round - we all need a little breather right now!
Thank you so much for sharing and for playing along with this week's sketch!

Now this is a Christmas card! The sunny yellow back drop allows the traditional look of the sentiment die to shine through. So you combine non-traditional with more traditional elements for an awesome design.
