I can't remember the last time I had a chance on a Saturday morning to play in the Inspiration Challenge. And I'm so glad I had some time this morning, because I loved the site today! Such fun little watercolors paintings. I could have been inspired by so many things, but I was looking specifically for inspiration for the second teacher calendar card of the year. Always looking for foxes for my Freetown Fox to give to his teachers, and I spotted this fabulous painting. It reminded me of this cute stamp from Honeybee Stamps. So I stamped that in Versafine Clair on Fabriano Hot Press paper, and then I used a technique that I learned in one of the earliest WCW challenges. You start with a light color and paint over the whole thing, then you start adding layers of darker colors in different spots of the image and you ultimately get very rich and interesting colors. I love how this came out!

This is so adorable and what a great teacher gift. Love the great colored combination of critters. I can see where today's inspiration site is right up your ally. Glad you had time to play along.
