Mary chose the fun (and patriotic!) colors of Real Red, White and Blueberry Bushel. I instantly decided to do a classic card with a lone tree with brightly colored lights. I stamped my tree (from the Snow Swirled set-2008!) and embossed it with sparkle white ep. Next I chose some red and yellow embellishments to take the place of lights and finally my red star at the top. Dessert is anything goes and I used 'sparkle' as my dessert. I was a bit frustrated my 'Merry' photographed weird. The light was bouncing off the sparkle and made it look green--it really isn't! This was a decidedly fun challenge as while I was looking through my sets, rediscovered some 'oldies but goodies' that I plan to use over the next few months in different challenges. Thank you, Mary for a fun one this week and can't wait to see what everyone else comes up with!

I still have that set too, Patti, and considered using it for this week! The sparkly tree looks wonderful, I love the single "merry," and the embossed stars on the red layer shine through!

I had to check to see if I had this set but sadly not. Love this older set embossed in the white sparkle. Cameras can be totally frustrating, ask me how I know, lol. Love your star embellishment and as ornaments for your tree too!

Really love this!! It's amazing how the sparkle comes through in your photo ... jumps right off the gallery page! Your subtle embossed background is the perfect backdrop!

Such a pretty tree with all the swirls and pretty lights. Your merry looks great and so sparkly. Hope you find the tree I did yesterday. It is one of those 60 second or less videos.

I think you chose the perfect tree for this pretty card. Elegant with a little playfulness to carry off the colors. And hey, as far as the photo goes, I'd just be happy to have the sparkle showing - I wouldn't have noticed any green if you hadn't mentioned it.

Beautifully designed with the colors. They look totally Christmassy! Love the tree and the adornments. The dry embossing adds a nice frame. I imagine this is so sparkly in person! Thanks for the inspiration for the colors and for using older stamp sets, too. Well done.

I love the embossed bkgd. It ties in so well with the tree. The enamel dots for ornaments are perfect. I always have fun digging in to the old sets, too!
