If you are looking for some fun, happy, colorful cards with some beautiful mixed in, you should visit the Gallery of our Featured Stamper, donnajeanne. She has all that going on. I went for beautiful with this card: A Rose For Karen by donnajeanne at Splitcoaststampers. My very good friend is having an "0" birthday and donnajeanne's card was the perfect inspiration.
I loved donnajeanne's pop of color with the red rose against the white. So I kept her white bg with a single brightly colored flower and a bit of embossing on the side. I added the numbers and gold thread and left off some of her layers.
For my card, I die cut the flower sections and numbers and ink blended with the CP inks. My friend is a redhead and her favorite colors are "whatever a red head can wear" hence the dark green and purples. I did partial embossing on the edge and then scored the embossed piece to both highlight the embossing and clean up the edges. Die cut the leaves in velum and added the twine. Done and ready to be mailed.
Congrats Donna Jeanne on being selected Featured Stamper. I hope you enjoyed all the cards you inspired. And a special thanks for helping me get a card made for a special friend. Hope everyone is feeling special today. TFL

Stunning design! So creative and beautifully done. A marvelous way to "sort of" show her age. The flower color/shading is superb. The twine and the embossed vellum are out of the box CLEVER...

Debbie, your colours are bold and beautiful! What a fabulous job on that flower. I know a very good friend with a 0 birthday who’s going to be very happy! Hope her birthday is as filled with vibrant beauty as the card you grace her with.

This is exquisite and feels so special! Love all of the texture and layers. I really like how you put the flower on top of the "0." As a redhead, I can relate!
