This was more fun than I thought it would be. I was anticipating issues but except for my drawing skills (pole is a little off center, house might fall off), I'm happy.
I didn't do cardinals because cardinals don't use bird houses. They prefer secluded areas with thick foliage, trees and shrubs. So I attempted to do chickadees. Sort of hard since they were small, look more like sparrows. Sparrows are invasive, often killing native species like Eastern Bluebirds so they can use their nest boxes.
Thanks for the challenge!

Oh, I love your birdhouse! The whole scene looks terrific, and the birds are wonderful! Your woodgrain turned out so well! Love your greenery and pole, the whole thing is beautiful!

Super job on your bird
house and I just know the house won't fall off the pole. Lol I sure didn't notice anything being off center. You are so right about cardinals not living in birdhouses.

Great job Jean and thanks for the fun deets. Stopped for a break on decorating the house and read your card, made me laugh. Your house is not going to fall off! We are all getting smarter about birds since this challenge. I welcome anything at my feeders and when some color shows up, I'm delighted. Back to your painting. It is very well done with the texture and shadows. Another terrific card for the gallery. TFS

OOh I love how rich you got your sky and I think the bulk of the birds we get are a lot of browns so, this looks very normal to me. We do get some colorful house finches in the winter and so, those are spots of cheer for me with the reds and bright yellows. We only see black caped chickadees when its snowing. I think your pole looks just fine. (mines a bent board hahaha)

Lovely watercolored card with attention to detail like the woodgrain....and the sweet little chickadees. Lovely work with the surrounding sky too. Well done!
