Color Challenge hosted by Barbara. Her lovely challenge colors are Blueberry Bushel, Azure Afternoon, and Silver with snow as the dessert option.
For my card, I utilized a new-to-me technique: stenciling with gel. I love how the Daily Challenges encourage me to step out of my comfort zone and try new things, use new color combos and inspire me to create!
I started by blending Azure Afternoon randomly around a Basic White panel. Then I secured the panel and the mask down to my work surface with painters tape. I lightly blended Blueberry Bushel ink all around the stencil areas. Then, I blended more ink to the medium snowflakes and even more ink to the larger ones. It was a nice variation of color.
Without removing the tape, I wiped off the stencil. Then I applied the glitter gel into the open areas on the stencil. The gel was clear until it made contact with a little ink inadvertently left on the stencil, and then it became tinted blue. It worked out nicely, but lesson learned!
After it was dry, I mounted the panel on silver foil and used some shiny ribbon around. The snowflakes are super sparkly! This one was fun to craft.
I hope you will explore your creativity with these colors and show us what you create!
Have fun! TFL

I swear I love happy accidents! The colored silvery snowflakes really shine and sparkle on the pretty card! I love the silver panel just peeking out and the silver ribbon to match! So pretty!

Diane, this is so beautiful! Love your silver ribbon, too! I have that snowflake mask and I also have the Gina K Iridescent Glitter Gel, so you've inspired me to give your technique a try!
