The theme for this week's Teapot is "Stitched Flowers." When I learned that Chrylene is also a quilter, I knew exactly what kind of card I wanted to design. I decided to cut out a flower using the scan n cut machine, and I'm happy to report that it turned out great! This was my first time cutting fabric with the machine, and I used a Tula Pink fabric for the flower. Tula Pink is a well-known name in the quilting community, and I hope that Chrylene notices the pattern.
To add a bit more to the card, I included an encouraging bible passage and used distress ink in "old paper" for the printed sentiment. The card still looked a bit plain, so I went around the edges with Lilac and Apple distress inks. I then added some Cosmic Shimmer Pixie Powders to the background to give it a little extra something, and went over it with some Sunshine distress ink.
Overall, I'm pleased with how the flower turned out, especially since it was my first time machine cutting fabric.
Thanks for the closer look.

It looks as if the fabric cutting went well. I guess it ought to, shouldn't be much different to a rotary cutter one you get the setting right - and there's some fine detailing in that flower. It's always really nice to see real fabric used on cards.

This is very creative and I like the vibrant colors in the fabric (I enjoy learning about the fabric).
A perfect scripture verse choice for the recipient, as well.

I love that you incorporated things that a quilter wlll love -- not only fabric but also a specific pattern known to quilters (not me, but then I am not a quilter). I hope Chrylene is familiar with that print too because that is very personal and special. Love all the bright shiney you created to show off that really cool flower. And you topped it with that wonderful verse of support. Great card.

This is so neat that you used fabric to make this card. It is very unique and pretty!
