Coming up with an idea for Gracie's challenge was harder than this card; as you can see, pretty CAS. I have no fireplace dies and I wasn't sure how to go about creating a fireplace, running out of time too. So I focused on chimneys and smoke coming out of said chimneys. If there is smoke, there must be a real fireplace. I've only lived in one home where there was a working fireplace; didn't light it often because it messed with the heating in the rest of the house. My first house was a Milwaukee bungalow, they typically had fake fireplaces but someone removed mine at some point, which was fine with me.
I used a village ef on dark blue speckled cs, rubbed the platinum inkpad over it to emphasize the houses and smoke coming out of the chimneys. Two of my postage stamps have chimneys, one actually has a fireplace and the one in the middle, while not an actual postage stamp, has a house with a chimney and smoke coming out of it. Thanks for the challenge, Gracie!

LOL, Jean, I didn’t have anything with a fireplace either , so went to Graphic Fairy for an image.
You are so creative, smoke comes from fireplaces! Love your added stamps, too.

Great scene and a super job thinking outside the box to meet the challenge. I love when we can come up with something to meet a challenge when we might not have just the right image or die cut. This is perfect and so beautifully designed.

Jean, your snow clad village with the smoking chimneys is such an iconic image of winter- and for me, of the holidays. I grew up in a house with a large stone faced fireplace, and loved the smell of wood smoke coming from that chimney! TFS
