 | | For Beverly's TLC today: TLC974 Gilded Leaves 10/23/2023 by ruby-heartedmom at Splitcoaststampers
I think I overthought this because of thinking that anything with a real leaf would most likely be fairly ephemeral. I like Anita's shadowbox, and might try a window with the leaf preserved in a laminating pouch, which vaguely crossed my mind. I've certainly used die-cuts in a laminating pouch for a window card before.
Anyway, for a robust leaf I chose a bay leaf from my trea, and it smelled gorgeous while heating it. I used mostly gold powder but added a bit of copper and red.
Embossed a leafy panel, very lightly added some Inka gold. As the embossing is quite detailed, even stamping the sentiment before embossing didn't look great so I stamped the sentiment again on a strip of torn vellum and laid it over the top. Rounded opposite corners, added it to a base and popped the leaf up over a kraft burlap die-cut. |
