The local group that feeds and spays feral cats in my area (Tri-Cities Friends of Kitties) has an annual online auction as a fundraiser. I foolishly volunteered to make some sets of cards to donate to the auction, especially since these fun cat themed Christmas stamps just arrived from Amazon last week, and I love the sarcastic sentiments included in the set. I made three sets of cat cards with 6 cards apiece.
For all of them I followed the same basic pattern: I stamped the image multiple times on white cardstock using Stazon Ink (which STILL ran a bit, grrr) and colored with alcohol markers, doing my best with the blending -- either I or the markers are not very good at it. I die cut the images using square or rectangle dies then cut a backing layer of patterned paper using the next size die. I glued these together and glued to the card front. I stamped the sentiment using the Versafine Onyx black ink and cut it out and glued to the card. I trimmed white cardstock to size to make a card insert and stamped the inside sentiment ("Meowy Christmas") in the black ink and glued inside the card. Pretty straightforward but it took ridiculous amounts of time to get the design I wanted, and for every image and sentiment I kept I probably stamped one that wasn't right. But they are done and I hope they sell at the auction and raise some money!
I don't think I have had too many cat stamps in the past so I am putting these in for a bygone Free 4 All challenge from 2021 as well as the more recent one to make a CAS Christmas card.
USEIT2023: Got a brand new box of 50 kraft cards and envelopes to use for my auction cards and used over half of them in these projects. Also used my new cat Christmas stamps, and used a bunch of older Christmas paper that I'm REALLY tired of but it just keeps going and going...lol.
Thanks for looking!
