Color Challenge hosted by Barbara. Her wonderful colors are Real Red, Old Olive, Lemon Lolly and Pool Party. The dessert option is New Home.
I was inspired by the dessert theme. My friend retired from her career and has been on a long, arduous journey of selling her home in order to move. I have been sending cards to encourage her along the way. Escrow should close next week on the sale of her home. In good faith, I prepared a celebratory card in advance. She will finally move to a place to put down roots and grow flowers.
The red flowers were stamped off for the first layer and stamped in full ink for the details. The smaller flowers are Lemon Lolly. The stems & leaves are Old Olive. I die-cut some clouds from masking paper and placed the clouds masks on the panel. Then I sponged on Pool party and stamped the sentiment inside one of the clouds.
I included a stamped & punched Lemon Lolly butterfly. The wings are popped up with just the body of the butterfly glued down. Wink of Stella glitter on the flowers and tips of the butterfly wings.
A simple card, but one my friend will enjoy. Have fun with the colors! TFL

Diane, I love your story as much as your card. Your garden path to your friend's new home is simply delightful and filled with hope and beauty (that might be the butterfly...you know how I love butterflies). Love the red flowers in the two-tones -- great technique. And I love how you stamped the stalks so each stands out individually but still looks so beautifully coordinated. I am sure your friend with treasure this wonderful gift. I hope she enjoys her new home and the adventures that await her there. Fabulous card.

A perfect card for your friend. Your clouds look great against your pool party background. Your red flowers pop and I love the two colors you achieved. The added yellow butterfly is just so sweet. Congratulations to your friend and you are such a good friend to have encouraged her along the way!

Diane, this card is wonderful! I love the way you masked the clouds and then sponged in the Pool Party sky. The flowers are so sweet. I feel for your friend and am so glad the sale of her home is finally going to close. She's gonna love this card!

Oh, how sweet this is, Diane, and your story behind the making of this card as well. What a nice celebration card this will be for your friend. You've got all the colors, and they look so pretty together. I especially like the added butterfly~
