It's Boss's Day today. I'm glad the TLC was quick and easy because I had to get my card finished before I left for work. I googled a night sky tutorial video and found one where she direct to paper covered the card with blues, grays, purples and black Distress Ink. I actually got out my Distress Inks instead of Distress Oxides that I usually use. Then she splattered with water and some purple metallic paint. I had some bluish metallic paint that worked great. But before I did any of that. I wrote out my sentiment with embossing pen and heat embossed with white. That was the best way I could think of to make the words pop against the night sky. I didn't do any fancy handlettering or anything, just plain cursive, but I kept skipping and adding letters, so I had to do it three times. For the CAS Fall Critters challenge, I chose this cute fox driving home from the office. It's dark because after we turn the clocks back in the fall, you have to drive home from work in the dark.
The entire sentiment says "Whoever invented Boss's Day was probably just trying to suck up to their boss. With that being said, happy Boss's Day to the greatest manager who has ever lived." I've made this card before, but my current boss hasn't gotten this one yet.

I love your sky! It turned out so well, and I can't believe how beautiful your hand-lettered sentiment came out! I got it right away, driving home in the dark because the boss piled up the work is immediately what I thought of, and your fox in the driver's seat is fantastic!

Adorable fox! It really does look like it is driving home in rush hour after a long day of working during the cooler months - dark when you get up and dark when you get home (been there, done that!). Your cursive is very nice and pops against the night sky. Great job getting inky for that impressive background!

LMAO, Jenn - this is precious! And what a perfect card for the occasion. Did it make your boss giggle?
And another question - you did all this BEFORE leaving for work, including looking up and viewing a tutorial?! My friend, how much before you leave work do you awake each morning? (This looks like a goal to me... to find that right mix of timing, without irritating my dear husband too much for disappearing to bed too early! LOL)
(P.S. - you free-handed that sentiment?! I love your handwriting! So classy yet still fun and bright! JUST LIKE YOU!!! )
