Well this was a ton of fun! I have to admit, I'm not that crazy about Ellen's videos...talks too quickly, talks too much and it's garbled. But this video was fine because it was short. I admire her abilities, just not her voice. Guess I'm too sensitive to those things.
Her directions were to use watercolor paint out of the tube and use the edge of an old credit card to scrape paint for the trees. She used Payne's Grey and so did I, one of my favorite colors. I tried to get my branches to curve, not too successful, but no matter. I kept the background simple with mostly undersea green and yellow ochre and a little quinacridone gold, another favorite color. I used the sketch and wash pencil to add some shadows to the trees. I also used the shading pencil at the bottom to darken things and add some subtle grasses, too subtle I guess.
Thanks for a very fun challenge!!!!!! Nice to know credit cards can be useful tools in more than one way.

Great job with the card and paint! I like your shading you did with the pencils. Gives nice depth to your painting. Thanks for playing and sharing your talent.

Your trees look awesome and I like the forks in a couple of them. I like the curved one, also. I was wishing I had bent some of mine more. Your shading is wonderful. Yes, we can use a credit card without spending money and that is fun.

I think your trees are gorgeous, and I love the sky colors. Such a peaceful scene, I feel like I'm in that lovely still moment as the sun starts to go down!
