Chris is our hostess in the Color Challenge this week, and I will admit that she really challenged me with her palette: Pebbled Path, Lost Lagoon, and Wild Wheat. The dessert option is to add a border.
I scored a vertical line 3/4" from the fold, and glued it down to the inside. Then I adhered the die-cut Lost Lagoon border to the "spine" of the card.
I added a Lost Lagoon layer to the Wild Wheat card base, then a layer of Pebbled Path DS paper. Stamped vases onto Very Vanilla cardstock, one vase with Lost Lagoon ink, one with Wild Wheat ink, and the last with Wild Wheat and then sponged Lost Lagoon ink onto the stamp before stamping. I added a few elements cut from silver foil cardstock and a few enamel dots.
Things I would do differently next time: I think the stamped and die-cut foliage would look fine if placed on a background of the same color--stamped on Very Vanilla and placed on a background of Very Vanilla. But I think with this background, the card would look much better with all die-cut foliage--from this set of dies and others to fill in.
Still, this is one of my very favorite stamp and die sets. Please join us in the Gallery this week with your creation!

Barbara, this is exactly the type of card I envisioned when I thought about these colors but your card is even better than that. I am loving all the textures and designs behind and around your main images. It truly adds to the "Asian" feel that these colors evoke for me. You have given me the Zen feel I was expecting and you did it with flare. Fabulous card.

I was hoping you would use this set, Barbara. The texture you've created here is stunning! Even your border is rich - I would not have thought to turn that die cut into the border.

Wow, this is stunning! Love how you used the challenge colors to create this amazing arrangement. The card fold provided a perfect border spot. Love the die-cut strip you placed there. Fabulous texture and interest. Gorgeous card!
