This week's Teaparty is for our dear fellow Teapotter MaryJo (Icela52). We are sending support and caring to MaryJo after the passing of her DH Nick; MaryJo was his devoted caregiver for many years.
Hearts are very much a symbol of caring, and when I read Polly's (peeps321) Teaparty challenge, I decided that's what was needed on my card for MaryJo. I didn't want them to look like valentine's, tho, so I decided on this retro early 1970's groovy color combo!
The background was created using the Blended Emboss Resist technique. Stamped the Three Hearts stamp in Versamark randomly on Gina K white CS, and heat-embossed with white EP. Blended Squeezed Lemonade, Wild Honey, and Fossilized Amber DI over the embossed panel. Trimmed it and adhered to a brown CS panel.
Stamped the flowers in the vase from the HA set onto white CS with Vintage Sepia ink, and then again with Versamark. Heat-embossed with Fossilized Amber DEG. Colored the flowers with markers, and die-cut with an oval die. Adhered to another oval die-cut from brown CS.
Stamped the greeting onto white CS with Distress Oxide Fossilized Amber, heat embossed with Fossilized Amber DEG, and die-cut with a circle die. Die-cut a scalloped circle from brown CS, and adhered the greeting circle to it.
Wrapped ribbon around the heart panel, popped up the flower oval and the greeting circle with foam tape. Added a bit of glitter gel pen to the flowers and the hearts on the vase.
TFL!

Yep, I think the colour combination of perfect for the time, I'm thinking of the only fitted wall to wall carpet we had in the house when I was a chiild. It was darker, but this very much reminded me of it. The heart background is beautifully done, and the sentiment is a great one.
