I sketched a duck and set him in the requisite puddle, then set about doing a loose outline with my black sharpie that hopefully gives a feeling of overlapping feathers (rather than fur - lol) Adding the shadowing was much easier than I anticipated. Did some light spatters once my painting was dry and framed with a baby blue embossed panel.
Really . . . the scariest part of this whole thing was hand lettering my sentiment but I think that turned out okay, too.

A wonderful sketch of the duck and the shadowing is great. Love your sentiment and the little puddle of water. Ducks do love water.
