 | | Congrats to fauxme (Annette) our featured stamper today!
I enjoyed looking through her gallery, some of which I had seen when we were both participating in the recent Dare to Get Dirty challenges!
I decided to CASE her Itty Bitty Christmas Poinsettia card.
I used less strips of DP
I oriented the strip horizontally instead of vertically.
I used a similar die cut poinsettia
I moved the location of the sentiment
I used softer colors
With these poinsettia dies, you can emboss them while they are still in the dies by using an impressions pad and a silicone rubber pad. It makes the veins in the petals show up.
After I embossed the pieces - I inked over the dies with Misty Morning ink before removing the cuts and that made the veins really stand out.
I used a DP for the poinsettia as well - from the same set as the background - it's stems with little oval buds - barely visible behind the veins - but there! I liked the idea of a white-ish poinsettia...
Congrats to you Annette and thank you for the inspiration today! Enjoy your week in the FS gallery! |
