Today we visited the wonderful world of Sue, aka suespms, the latest Featured Stamper. And, if you're an SU fan, I'm sure you will see many of your favorites to inspire. Here's what inspired me today: Nature's Seasonal Borders by suespms at Splitcoaststampers
I was primarily drawn to this card because of that gorgeous brocade bg on the base. And, I wanted to see if using nearly identical products on two card but in different colors changed the way I "felt" about a card.
So I kept Sue's patterned bg but flipped my card to portrait. Substituted her strip of images for a strip with a sentiment and added my images as die cuts. Obviously, I changed colors.
I wish I had a stamp more like hers, but I didn't so I ended up using this design from PB instead. I wanted to stay monochromatic so I stamped a panel in dark green and bright yellow similar to the cs colors. And I wish the PB stamp covered the full 4 1/4 x 5 front, but it doesn't so I trimmed the sides. To make it stand out a bit I stacked the panel with two more layers each. I also layered the sentiment strips onto the same colored cs because I just can't help but add layers. Added the butterflies and the gemstones, which I colored with COPICS. In the end, the colors didn't really make me "feel" differently. I really thought they would. Oh well, now I know and I've got two more cards for this months Cards for a Cause donation.
Congratulations Sue on being selected Featured Stamper. You have a lovely Gallery with many inspirational cards. I hope you enjoy your week and the cards made in your honor. Hope everyone is having a colorful day. TFL

Both stunning! The designs, the coloring, and your beautifully stamped BG are all fabulous! The green is so rich looking and the yellow-toned one with the wee butterflies is heartfelt with that headline...
