Polly is hosting the TeaPot challenge and she asked us to make a card using some paper crafting item that we love to use. Since the card recipient, Ashlie, loves the color purple, I made a quilt card using various purple dsp strips.
I glued thin strips of dsp to a cardstock panel and then cut the panel into one inch squares. The squares were glued to the green panel and then I embossed the panel with a Cuddlebug paisley folder. I matted this panel with a light purple panel. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark and then in Gorgeous Grape ink before clear embossing. I die cut the sentiment and then layered with a die cut from silver glimmer paper. I added silver twine behind the sentiment and colored the rhinestones with a purple Copic pen.
Thank you for hosting, Polly. My prayers are with Ashlie and her family.

What a comforting card for Ashlie. Love your purple embossing on the sentiment. Thanks for the details on how you created this beauty. The 3 strands of twine is a great touch. I love this!

I love your quilted cards and this one is lovely with that wonderful dp and great ef. I might have to buy that ef. The frame on the sentiment is so elegant and makes the sentiment the star for sure. Love the bits of glitz with the glimmer paper and twine. I so agree with Shirl -- this card does have a very comforting feel to it. Perfect for Ashlie. Fabulous card.

That patchwork effect is fabulous. At first it was just the layout with the squares I noticed, but then as I looked I could see how you had pieced the strips and then cut the squares - what a wonderful effect.
