Our fellow Teapotter, ZPAW Now, has nominated his wife, Laura, for this week's Tea Party. Laura has served in the US Army for 23 years and was recently promoted to Colonel. That absolutely calls for a celebration! And I will take any excuse to make a patriotic card. I combined this challenge with last week's TLC Challenge--graffiti. For my brick wall, I grabbed a piece of gray cardstock, inked up my brick EF with Black Soot and ran it through the Big Shot. It gave me just the right look between the bricks. Then I just swiped my DOX Candied Apple and Aged Mahogany ink pads across the bricks to color them. I'm very happy with the results. I accidentally grabbed some shimmery gray cardstock, but it's a neat look. I stamped the little "I love the USA" stamp for my graffiti, colored the star, and added some stripes with white gel pen. Brian says Laura likes dogs, so I went with this Bugaboo digi with the cute pup holding the flag. For the ground I grabbed another piece of gray cardstock and stamped all over it with Itty Bitty Backgrounds concentrating more stamping at the top. I bought this "Ask not what your country can do for you..." stamp on clearance at Hobby Lobby years ago. I love when I find a reason to use it.
Congratulations to Laura! I hope she loves her cards!

This is a very fitting and adorable card for Laura. Love that wonderful sentiment. She has been doing a lot for our country and lives by this every day.
