From an earlier post, I posted about going to Sunset Beach next week to find the Kindred Spirits mailbox (a mailbox that has multiple notebooks in it for people to write whatever they want in them. Its run by volunteers and they change out the notebooks often) - you can see this post here WT956 Sending You an Ocean of Thanks by cheermom at Splitcoaststampers.
Anyway, I decided to make a card using bits and pieces of 3 different Hero Arts die cuts. The palm trees oval is one die cut, I cut away all the flowers and leaves around it. The bench is one die cut and the mailbox was another. Then I colored the sky and sand with copic markers. Here is what I am going to write in the notebook:
"Back in 1994, 4 frients met at a preschool with 3 boys and 1 girl. Us moms would meet for breakfast at Dunkin Donuts while the kids were at preschool. We started a playgroup where moms with kids of all ages would meet once a month. As the kids got older, us 4 moms would meet for lunch or dinner on occasion. In 2001, one of us 4 moms was diagnosed with Stage 4 breast cancer Robin fought 6 long years until she passed away in 2007. We all agreed then that we would stay friends no matter what and we have. Robin was just 41 years old and it's still hard to believe she's been gone 16 years this September. Here we are wishing that Robin was with us. She would love this place and what it stands for! We sure miss her! July 2023 Sherri, Lorraine and Mary"
Now I am not sure what I am doing with this card as I had already made the last thank you card for one of the girls who is having us stay at her beach house. I may give her this one instead. I even made one for myself so I can hang it up on my bulletin board in my stamp room so I can smile when I look at it .

I love the idea of a kindred spirits mail box and your story about your friends is a lovely example of how friendships develop over time and last forever. Your sweet friend, Robin, is somewhere loving that you are thinking of her and are still together because of her. Your card is gorgeous. I love the soft colors on this beautiful beach scene.

Just amazing. What a story, and missing one of you for all these years is a real tribute to her. Your group is spectacular, and your card honors all of you!

What a wonderful card to represent the Kindred Spirits mailbox, Sherri! I'm sorry about your friend, Robin, but so glad you have remained friends with the other gals. It's always wonderful to remember special times you spent together as a group!
