This is my sample for the Color Challenge hosted Chris. Her beautiful colors are Azure Afternoon, Balmy Blue, and Sweet Sorbet with your favorite green as the dessert option.
I have been reorganizing my wood-mounted stamps and walking down memory lane with many of them. I spotted a favorite sketchy set and this image seemed to be perfect for the colors. I stamped it on watercolor paper and masked the girl. The sea water was water-colored with Azure Afternoon. After it was dry, I added in some Just Jade (dessert green). The sky was sponged with Balmy Blue. I tried to use a cloud stencil, but the ink does not blend as well on watercolor paper. You might be able to make out a few clouds. They are subtle.
Then I removed the mask. First, I water-colored the girls hair with Crumb Cake neutral. Her skin was colored with Natural Tones blends marker. I paper-pieced her dress.
After bordering the image with a Sweet Sorbet die-cut frame, I attached the image on a strip of Azure Afternoon DSP and a white card base. I tied on linen thread on the left side and wondered what I could dangle from it. I found two beads in my stash and one bead has two blues for a near perfect match. In the bottom right corner, I attached a seashell and two small pearls.
Final touches were a little white acrylic paint on the wavy water tops and Wink of Stella through the water area for a lovely sparkle. Super fun card to make. I enjoyed time with an older stamp and newer colors.
I hope you are inspired to explore your creative time and will join us for the Color Challenge!

You and I were on the same wave-length when creating our cards this week, Diane : ) Those blues said water and sky to me, too!
I've always loved the images in that stamp set and this little girl is sweet as can be. I love the way you added white and sparkle to the waves. Great embellishments, too!
