I was inspired by Toni's Ways to Use It Challenge -Your number.
For this card, my number is 8. It was die-cut from packaging that I saved & repurposed. I liked the shiny silver with a ripple through it.
Today, I needed a quick, cheerful birthday card for a boy having his 8th birthday. He likes blue & green and loves to build with blocks. I pulled out my bin with cardstock scraps cut into strips. I thought to build a tower of "blocks", but decided instead to create a staircase type design. Since it was going in the mail today, I just cut and glued. Not much thinking ahead, except to use eight strips. Next time I might cut the strips so that one could have happy on top of it and birthday on the one below.
Thanks for the fun challenge, Toni. TFL

This is such a cute idea for a birthday card, Diane! Building blocks...how fun and I like the different heights and lengths and your color combo is bright and cheery~
