I was inspired for my card by the multiple mountains and trees, clouds, texture and the colors, especially on the mountains.
I created an outdoor scene with one of my favorite sets. Usually, I always include water, either a lake or river. However, I was inspired by andastra to use just mountains, trees and a grassy meadow. I started by lightly sponging on some Garden Green in the bottom half. Then I stamped the mountains in Pretty peacock.
I inked the trees with markers direct on the stamp. I used Garden Green and Early Espresso on the trunk and then stamped. The green stamping on the meadow area was stamped off once before making the impression. I used a cloud stencil and lightly sponged some Marina Mist above the mountains. Finished off with a sentiment in Early Espresso.
Trimmed the panel and gave the long sides a thin mat. Layered on a panel of Marina Mist that was embossed for texture.
This card to going to a cancer patient. He loves the mountains and likes greens & blues.
Thanks Andastra for sharing your beautiful work with us and for inspiring me today!

Exquisite scene! The sponging, the peaceful look, and the stenciling are all fantastic. The framing is absolutely perfect and enhances the beauty of the scene.

Diane, you have created a gorgeous retreat in blues and greens in my most favorite of places -- the mountains. You totally captured the feel of the inspiration page here and took it to a beautiful ethereal place. I know what you mean about usually adding water, but I love how this looks without any. Reminds me of so many beautiful mountain meadows I have visited and I bet it will do the same for your recipient as he, too, loves the mountains. Fantastic card!
