This week we are taking the Tea Party to Mary for a bit of cheer while she is recovering from surgery. Mary loves plants, especially succulents, and our hostess asked us to use them if possible on our cards. Alas, succulents do not grow in my stamp garden; but, the most common succulent in my area is Echeveria and that reminds me quite a bit of a rose. I added a pic of one up in the corner.
So, I pulled out my favorite rose stencil and attempted Echeveria coloring. I wanted more blueish green than I had, so I ink blended blue over the green on each layer of the stencil. I then went back and added the bright pink. I tried for a softer pink but it looked too brown so I opted for a fuchsia tone instead. I colored silver nailheads with a COPIC marker. The sentiment stamp has another section which I didn't think fit the occasion so I masked that off. Unfortunately I didn't notice the last section here ended with "and" so I will add "supported more than you know" to the inside. I hope that saves it.
Well that was my crafting adventure today. Honestly, I'm not a succulent person so I am just hoping this "rose" looks like one and not a head of cabbage...eek...but maybe Mary likes cabbages too. I am sure she will like and enjoy all the love, prayers and support headed her way from all you great stampers. Hope you are enjoying your crafting adventure today too. TFL

I resembles a succulent, more than a rose with the colors you chose. Lovely card! I didn't notice the greeting ended with and till I read your note. She will love this.

I am not a succulent person either, but I have some because Mary sent them to me. I have a couple different kinds of these Echeveria. You definitely rocked this with your rose stencil! It looks great! Thank you for making this beautiful card for my dear friend.

You're too hard on yourself....this is lovely especially with the colors you used on it. I really like how that sentiment looks stamped over it...and how you're continuing the message on the inside...very clever!

Great and creative improvising - your rose was beautifully transformed into a succulent! Lovely coloring and nicely balanced with that perfect sentiment.

Oh you are the creative one, turning a rose into succulent colors. I love this and great save on the sentiment continuing on the inside! Love your copic colored nail head stickers for accents! This is lovely Debbie!

Debbie, this is so elegant and pretty with your stenciling, attention to succulent colors, and the wonderful sentiment stamped over the flower. The photo of the Echeveria brought to mind that my grandfather grew these and he called them hen and little chickens due to the way the large plants grew little plants.
