I have followed My Modern Met on Facebook for years. Always fascinating!!!!! I especially like it when there is art featured, although I've looked at the artists' website or blog and can't afford anything. Thanks for choosing this wonderful site.
I have gained a reputation with friends...if one doesn't know what to do with something, give it to Jean. She'll either put it on her Christmas tree or make something with it. Doilies, some from my Grandma Meyer, come to mind. This is what inspired me:https://www.pinterest.com/pin/126382333286105121/
Anything with leaves catches my eye. I used a real doily, maybe intended as a coaster, diecut some leaves out of a stash piece with ink and a text stamp, mounted on another stash piece, not idea what it is, although my memory tells me that it was some kind of paste or spray through a stencil, the paste would bubble up with texture when heated. When I worked at Target, I saved some cardboard pieces with words or something that interested me and that's where the 'best karma' comes from. What does that mean? No idea. I have family members who practice Buddhism so that caught my eye.
Having stash for creating has caused me a lot of purging and throwing away because of my move but it has also allowed me to continue to create. I think everyone should move at least a couple of times in the lifetime because you find out what you really have....I have a lot. It's in my DNA to see something and know I could do something with it.
This is also for yesterday's MIX-splatter something! Always fun. Thanks for these challenges!

What a great background and your combined found items from your stash all look wonderful together, Jean. Love the words too. Hugz

What an incredible piece of artwork! I really love the juxtaposition of the leaves with the crochet work. Your textured background looks fabulous. Wow!
