I scored two A2 card stocks to create a diamond pattern, and then used one of the cards as a stencil to cut out a diamond pattern. I stenciled a different color in each corner of the base card using the cut-out pattern. To bring the pattern together, I used Stickle to trace the score lines.
I played with different dylusion shimmer paint combinations for the background challenge (WT951), and one of the experiments ended up as a die-cut parrot that I really like. His coloring is vibrant and he has a nice shine to him.
However, the parrot was too loud against the already busy background, so I used two die-cut circles as a parrot background. I also added a horizontal white stripe to help the parrot stand out.
Thank you for taking the time to view my card. The
colors remind me of Carnivale in Brazil though I've never been.

Super work with the background. Thanks for the how-to description. DIY stencils are great. Your shimmery parrot is fab and the pink circles were a great way of really letting him shine. This reminds me of last summer when we went to a raptor display in the ruins of an old castle. (The first bird, a fishing eagle, we didn't get to see because he flew off to the river in the valley below). At the end there was a really colourful display with all sorts of small parrots and macaws. Your background colours are parrot colours too.
P.S - the "stamps: in the information fields is really intended for the stamp company name and set if you know it ;-).

That background is amazing! I love the way you sponged the corners of your diamonds with the bright colors. The stickles add some extra sparkle. The parrot is so pretty. The circles set it off to showcase the shimmer...good call.
