One of my favorite things to do is create backgrounds using the smooshed watercolor technique. I tried to add the die cut image to the BG, but wasn't too successful, so I need to look into that technique further. I remember Loll Thompson doing some cards using that idea, so I will look to see if I can figure it out. The wildflowers were cut, distress ink added and placed on the BG. The sentiment was stamped and a rhinestone added for a little bling.

Your bg's always look so eye-appealing, Sue. Love the splatters and your pretty stamped blooms on the panel....they enhance the die-cut blooms so well~

I think the subtle effect of the stamped background is great. We have a tutorial in Resources called die-cut stamps which is close to what you describe, using fun foam to cut the dies. That makes quite a durable "stamp" that can be used multiple times (especially if you cut two and layer them for extra depth to make inking easier). Great with with the smooshed background.

Love the smooshed water colored background and the faint stamping die cut images goes perfect with the die cut too. It really turned out great and with wonderful colors.
