For today's Tea Party we are sending bright and colorful flowers to Waltraud - the mother of Elke (tropicalsmiles). She is in the hospital recovering from a series of small strokes. Jacqueline has challenged us to make some very colorful backgrounds for some colorful flower cards. I grabbed this pretty bouquet of flowers from my collection of images that my friend had stamped for me. Then I dug through my background drawer for the brightest backgrounds I had. I found two really great ones. This one was made with a brayer, Kaleidacolor ink and the SU Spiral Dye stamp. There is a kind of a seam underneath the sentiment, that's why the sentiment is as big as it is and in the place that it is. I'm not saying that it looks out of place. I actually quite like it there. I'm just explaining my process. I fussy cut the flowers and colored them to match the background. I feel like I always just grab a piece of white paper and stamp my sentiment in black and that would have looked fine here, but I stepped out of my usual routine here with a scrap of blue paper and a heat embossed sentiment. And I didn't even use white EP--it's pastel yellow. Whoa. Who am I?

Oh, this is the one for Waltraud. When I commented about an encouraging sentiment on your first one, I was thinking of Waltraud. Now, I see the one you used worked for your friend's birthday, lol. Love this one all colored up and the bright band of blue you added for your sentiment embossed in the pretty pale yellow!!

Wow, that bg is STUN-NING! I love it and I love the flowers you added to it. I'm not saying that orange would have been out of the question here, but I think you chose all the RIGHT colors for this charmer. The yellow flowers with the blue centers are fabulous against that bg. I love the big blue banner so happy coincidence that it needed to go right there. And that your chose to emboss the sentiment and to do so in color...BRAVA!!!! Fabulously fun and heaps of delightful.

You nailed both requirements--colorful background and colorful flowers! Beautiful, cheerful card!
