Toni's challenge introduction talked about this being the anniversary of Mt St Helens eruption of 1980. It was timely for me since one month ago I visited the Mt St Helens Visitors Center. There was bad weather that day and this was as close as we could get. We toured the well-presented Center and when we came out, the weather had cleared enough so that we could see the volcano. The WA State Parks had cleared a place to view the mountain through the pines and that is where I took my photo on which this watercolor is based.

Your talent is amazing! I wish I could watercolor a beautiful scene like this! Someday, I want to get to WA to see the volcano. We just watched the movie a few weeks ago. Lovely card!

A beautiful rendition of Mt St Helens, Sallie! I"m glad the clouds cleared so you could see the beauty of the mountain and area 43 years later. Nature truly did regenerate. I was nearby when the volcano erupted, it wasn't pretty with all the ash falling. You have clearly and beautifully shown what nature can endure and how it regenerates!
P.S. I still have a small container of the ash!

Such a pretty painting, and how nice that you were able to use your own photo as inspiration! The wisteria border looks wonderful. Another Amazing water coloring, Sallie~

Beautiful! Your watercolor paintings are amazing. You are talented. It's a serene scene and sounds like the day was as magical as your painting...

That must have been a wonderful visit. You can never count on the weather, but sometimes bad weather can be more atmospheric so long as you're dressed for it. Beautiful card from your photo.
