I have a lovely mountain stamp but I used it quite recently for Lisa's hiking challenge with the Beagle Scouts. And I'm a big fan of handcut and stitched mountains, but in the end I pulled out a Sizzix set. Initially I made a box as the set is intended for, but it's really just an assembly job and I already have two in my gallery (Bears in a Box by Cook22 at Splitcoaststampers, so I decided to try making a card with it. So that I still had some dimension I layered each layer with foam tape . I cut a hexagonal aperture in a square of white card which I then embossed with an SU folder. I cut a frame from kraft sponged to look like wood with two nesting dies. Instead of the diecut stars on the background layer I spattered gold paint on a painted piece of watercolour paper, and I switched the bears out for two deer from Memory Box.
The embossed white panel is up on foam, so that the mountain scene doesn't stick up too far above it.

I love this so much!! I bet all the little pieces made this a bit putzy but it's so worth it. Having it in that hexagon shaped frame pulls it all together.
