I used a piece of sponge and, unfortunately, already forgot which inks I used to blend the background.
Proper blending brushes are in the mail. I'm very happy with this background, but I'm sure it will be easier to hold a handle than a small torn piece of sponge.
I chose to go without a sentiment until the card has a purpose. It will be easy enough to add a quick sentiment. This is such a neutral card that could be used for so many occasions there was no reason to limit its potential uses.
This is such a stunning stamp. Thank you for the excuse to use it.

Stunning. Fabulous. Incredible. Beautiful; I watched a science program years ago that claimed the DNA of these creatures is completely unique - not shared with any species they have yet identified. AND they are remarkably intelligent. So maybe they ARE an ET!
edited to add: Ooops, wait - I think the octopus was what the scientists were discussing - oh well!

I always enjoy seeing cards with beautiful bgs and black stamped images whether they are silhouette stamps or open work like this beauty. Your bg is stunning and I love how you added movement and the sense of water with both the colors and the bubbles. This card has the most serene and peaceful feel to it. I agree with you that it could be used for any occasion. Enjoy those new brushes but don't throw away your sponges just yet. You worked some magic here with them. Fabulous card.
