The inspiration is vibrant and classic, and I wanted to change up the techniques. I created my two-toned blue flower with my Stencils 360 tool and the circular dahlia stencil. I created a beautifully blended background (if I do say so myself! lol!) by using the sticky mat that came with the Altenew Stampwheel as a gel press, with two aqua inks and a brayer (I may never ink blend a panel again - so easy and so fast!). I embossed that panel with a new geometric embossing folder.
I stamped my sentiment in orangey-yellow and put it across the centre of the flower to combine the inspiration's sentiment strip and flower centre. And I finished with some Apricot dew drops for a little shine.

Ooooh, I love the colors and that gorgeous stencil. I love how it evokes the look of the inspiration card but in a fresh, updated way. Yes, I agree with you -- your ink blended bg is beautiful and I love the EF too -- it's so versatile and looks great with florals. Fabulous card.
Ardyth, this is a beautiful case of Lesley's card. I love the wonderful pattern you created with the stencils. The embossed layer is the perfect background to highlight the image layer.

Great case of Lesley's card from 2014, Ardyth. I loved her card back then and love your version as well. Super cool layering, texturing, colors, and design. The EF and stencil you used are really cool. Into my faves. Hugz

Your blues are heavenly. How fun that you now have a new 'gel press' .... aren't you clever to come up with that great idea!!
