Yesterday I was perusing Pinterest and came across a painted coffee cup, looking at it from above. Then I found a video of Emma La Fave, showing how to paint a coffee cup. But in the end, this is all me.
Dina's MIX on Friday was to paint according to the Carly Simon song 'You're So Vain'. I just heard that in the grocery store last week. Yes, the songs of my youth are now grocery store music. I put down deeper shades of blues and grays for the coffee itself and the background and dabbed with a paper towel to get back to the white. I used a Posca pen to reinforce my white areas, since they got a bit lost. Stamped in espresso truffle (I love to do this when it's a coffee theme!) and doodled a border with brown Micron. I really love how this turned out. Thanks for the challenges, oh wonderful artists! Gray skies are gonna clear up, put on a happy face.

WOW so creative! I love how it illustrates a line from a song. I love the saying (even though I'm not a coffee drinker..could be any beverage). SO well done....

Love the clouds in your coffee, Jean. Great sentiment.
Seriously, you did a wonderful job sketching and painting this. I am impressed!
