This is another 2-D Embossing folder I've had at least 7 years. I have never found a technique using it that I actually made into a card as they all ended up "blah".
So I decided to try today's TLC challenge with it.
I watercolored a piece of Canson cold press WC paper with random blobs of color - let dry then sprayed with Ice Blue shimmer Mist for (maybe) a frostier look and there is a lot of iridescent blue shimmer under my black. Ran my panel through the big shot then filled in with a black sharpie around all the raised embossed parts. I was going to skip the embossing at the end since it's not as effective on a 2-D folder But decided to try just a bit of silver embossing on the Merry & Happy. I am finally happy enough with the look I got with this folder to make it into a usable card!!

That sounds like a real win to get a card you liked from that folder. I tend to avoid stand-alone ones for that reason. I can see some of the blue shimmer, and I bet it's fab IRL.
This is so pretty! I love that you achieved a similar look without having a 3D folder. I love the look of this. The painting is so vibrant and really pops surrounded by the black.

Well, this one sure is not blah. I really like that embossing folder and how you have colored it up so bright and happy. The glimmer and shine looks great. Fab Christmas card.
