This week's Featured Stamper, Imke aka germanstampler, has a fantastic Gallery of fun, colorful and beautifully designed cards. So enjoyable browsing through them all and trying to choose; but, I finally decided on this beauty: FF16shavingcreamstenciling - Tutorial # 6 by germanstampler at Splitcoaststampers. I love her fun colors against the black and how that contrast added so much interest and drama but remained whimsical with that fun die cut flower.
As much as I love Imke's colors, I wanted a card for a dear friend whose favorites are coral and teal and who loves Hawaii. So that was my color choices for my version. I kept Imke's layout, circled bg; and floral focus; but changed colors, embossing instead of stenciling used a group of flowers instead of the single bloom, and changed out her black for green just to keep it more tropical.
For my card, I stared by applying ink onto the top of the EF. I purposely didn't blend the colors -- just dabbed randomly here and there. This stamp set has a coordinating stencil as well as dies. I used the stencil to color the flowers and leaves so the ink colors would match the bg. Then it's just cut and paste.
Congratulations Imke on being selected this week as Featured Stamper. I love your fun designs and the bold patterns you used for so many of your bgs. I hope you enjoy the many cards made in your honor. Hope everyone is enjoying the day and getting their fingers inky. TFL

This is a wonderful CASE of Imke's card. I really like the colors you chose and the way you created your background with the inked up embossing folder. And your flowers are so soft and pretty. Beautiful card!!
