Featured Stamper honoring Imke also known as Germanstampler here on SCS.
I loved gazing through her fabulous gallery and was amazed at her talent for beautifully combining papers, colors and patterns. I selected this one for my inspiration:
Imke's flower-filled boots inspired me to select an image that also relates to a spring garden; this watering can filled with tulips has been a long-time favorite of mine.
With the color refresh that Stampin Up will unveil this coming week, I have been feeling nostalgic for colors that have retired and the papers that had those colors. The patterned paper I used here has mostly retired colors. Except for the neutral Smokey Slate for the can, I watercolored only with colors represented in the paper pack, although not all are seen with the pieces I used. It was so fun to revisit these colors, like long lost friends.
Changes: I kept the layout similar with different sizes & papers. Changed the image and colors. No sentiment for now. I did not add a bow and used an epoxy drop and one gem on the handle instead of clear gems. Finished off with Wink of Stella sparkle.
Thank you, Imke for sharing your beautiful cards with us and for inspiring mine today!

So pretty Diane. You have the best retired older stamps! Love your mix of papers. I too loved seeing all of Imke's interesting layers of papers in her gallery. Diane, your coloring is gorgeously done on this image!

Wonderful CASE of Imke's card. I love your soft colors and dp choices. Don't you hate it when favorite inks and papers are discontinued -- ugh! But I'm glad you still had some to make this beautiful Spring card. Great coloring too.

This is such a pretty watering car filled with softly colored tulips. I like your offset background panels and it's fun to recognize that vintage paper!
