I had to make another card, as it's very hard to stop having fun with creating BG's! Imke's, Just a Note card, gave me the perfect opportunity to use a new technique I recently discovered. You use alcohol inks on a gel plate to create BG's. I used wild plum and glacier inks, along with 91% alcohol on the hexagon gel plate. The flowers are by Penny Black and the sentiment is from Verve Stamps and they are stamped in archival black. Here's Imke's card.
And here is the link to the technique presented by the Group of Seven Cardmakers. Loll Thompson and Julia Aston are part of the group and I saw cards done by both of them.

Sue, those colors look glorious on this card. I love the rich, deep look you get with AI and the hex plate makes for a beautiful shape/design. Silhouette stamping is the perfect way to finish off the bg. Gorgeous card. I am off to check out your link for the technique. Love this.

This is wonderful! I love the colors you've combined and the crisp, black stamped flower and sentiment. Such an attractive layout with the white space around the color and the pretty framing.
