The prompt for this card was to use as many words as possible. I found this dictionary paper by Authentique in my stash, and thought how perfect that would be for this challenge!
I cut the patterned paper to A2 size, & ink blended it with Spun Sugar. I made sure to use the original Distress ink rather than the Oxide, because I didn't want to obscure the text. I thought it looked a wee bit too bright, so I went over that with Lost Shadow. That ended up toning it down a little too much, so I did another coat of Spun Sugar. I'm not sure if it came out like I really wanted it in the end, but I don't hate it.
I die cut the camera from a scrap of smooth bristol paper. It is one die that cuts out all the pieces, & I figured I would waste less paper if I cut it out of white & colored each piece. I glued the outline piece to a scrap of white cardstock to use as a backer, & colored it with a dark grey marker. I colored the inside pieces to either side of the lens with a slightly lighter grey marker, & glued them in place. I wanted to go with a soft rainbow color scheme for the rest of the pieces, so I pulled out light colors of markers, colored those pieces, & glued them in place on my backer cardstock. Unfortunately, the dark grey marker bled onto the lens pieces. Thankfully, the glue had not dried completely when I noticed that, so I was able to peel them up - carefully - with tweezers. I re-die cut just the lens pieces, recolored them, & glued them back in place, making sure to be more sparing with the glue, & watch the marker ink on my fingers. Thankfully, the pieces along the top of the camera didn't cause me any grief. I cut the backer around the perimeter of the camera, & colored the edges with the darker grey marker, just to camouflage the white cardstock I'd glued everything to.
I pieced together my greeting (it was actually 2 stamps) in my MISTI, & stamped it on a banner I'd die cut out of Fig Swirl cardstock. Then I glued the camera & the banner onto my card front, being extremely careful with the camera so the marker ink wouldn't bleed again. I adhered the card front to a white card base to finish.

I often think the same about dies when one die cuts everything. I'm sure it's more economical to produce, but either one has to cut a lot of redundant pieces or go the colouring route! It looks great, and the newsprint background is perfect for lots of words. For me, positive is a fun sentiment to use with the camera. I used to really like watching my dad develop his negatives and print the positives.

Yep, dictionary paper "says it all" and yours looks super as the bg for that fabulous camera. Love the bright colors on the camera too. I feel your frustration with the ink bleed -- I have had that happen with my Tombows and glue as well -- oh so maddening! But you made a great save here. I really like the observation Sabrina made about using the word "positive" with a camera image. She's right -- it's perfect. Fab card.
