Used the simply circles set because I thought it looked like christmas ornaments or tree lights. I use a small cheap tea light in the votive, that way the light shines through the whole vellum and the metal part is covered by your cardstock strip at the bottom. If you use a standard size votive candle, then the flame is up higher than most of your design and it is not as glowing.

yes, My particular one was 6 1/2 inches by 2 5/8 inches. (that includes the cardstock strip - there is vellum behind the strip too) Next time I might do 6 inches or a little less since I had so much on the sides of the candle. But it will totally depend on your votive. Get your votive first and then just measure with a piece of paper and cut down until you get the look you like. I cut it so that it was just level with the top of the glass. They are fun and easy - next I want to try a fall one that might be good as thanksgiving table favors. Once I give one to them, then I could give them different sheaths for different holidays. Enjoy!

Thanks for the info - these would make cute favors, maybe pretty would be the better word - for showers, weddings, etc. Saw your newest ones too - all are very lovely.

thank you! TIP - the wheels make them SO easy! If you are doing a wheel, just cut your 2 5/8 by 11 inch strip. Wheel it, or stamp it (like on the random leaf one)THEN cut it in 1/2 to make the 2 5/8 by 5 1/2 votive size. It is easier to get a good run going with the wheel on the whole 11 inch strip than in the little 5 1/2 size. The vellum wants to buckle under the pressure of the wheel, but you need the pressure to keep it from skidding on the slick surface. They are SO easy and fun. - would make great favors!!
