Kristy the Painter is a wonderful artist and I do enjoy her work. She is one of the first YouTubers to introduce me to loose watercolor painting. She makes painting look so easy. This watercolor hydrangea wasn't so easy for me at first.
In the tutorial Kristy used a dagger brush. I tried to but, I ditched the dagger brush and used a wine cork to paint my hydrangea petals! What you're seeing here is my second attempt at this painting. With my first attempt, I used a brush and my petals were awful. Also, the colors looked muddy and not "loose" at all. I happened to have a wine bottle cork on my desk (knew it would come in handy one day). I dipped the cork into the paint on my pallet and began to make petals. Soooo much better! I hope this wasn't cheating! I just haven't gotten the hang of using a dagger brush yet.
With all that being said, I hope you enjoy!

Your hydrangea bloom is really pretty and I love the leaves, too. I think several of us found it harder than it looked. I did and I think I did one or two before the one I settled on and made it smaller. You were not cheating one bit and so glad you joined us this week. I had a laugh about your comment on my card.....painting while going for a world record.

Love the soft wispy look the wine cork painting created. I'm finding doing all the challenge techniques , they are not all my forte. Some go well and others not so much. Glad you tried the artist way and you didn't like it so you tried your version. Thanks for sharing that version so we can give it a try. You are wonderful addition to these challenges. I learn from you. Hugs
