Catching up on some previous Featured Stampers, and mixing in a few of this week's challenges as well. Kyra (Scrapacat) has a fabulous gallery and I had saved several cards as potential inspirations. However, I had to go with this one:
because the image is very similar to the images in the retired SU stamp set Riveting, which is one of the older sets that I had been watching for on Ebay, and lucky me, it arrived yesterday!
I decided to combine the basic design from Kyra's cards with the colors from this week's color challenge. I started with a blank Hallmark card from Dollar Tree. Usually I cover up the backgrounds but since the orange and green matched the challenge colors I decided to leave the edges visible. I found a strip of blue striped paper that looked close to Balmy Blue and attached to the center of the card. I found blue, green and orange cardstock scraps and die cut flowers and leaves with the Stampin Up Pierced Blooms dies, and used two sizes of circle punches to cut contrasting orange centers for the flowers. I glued the centers to the flowers, glued the leaves to the card front, and attached the flowers with foam tape. I added green iridescent dot stickers to the flower centers. I stamped the sentiment on orange cardstock in Versamark ink and heat embossed with detail black powder, then used a circle die to cut it out. I die cut a small doily from a piece of white cardstock and attached to the back of the sentiment, then attached both to the card with foam tape.
I realized this also works for Friday's Free for all Challenge theme of "new" where one of the options was using a "senior" tool or stamp. Since the Riveting set is both quite "senior" but also brand new to me (and was actually BRAND new, I had to trim the rubber and assemble the stamps!) I decided it definitely counts...

What a cute card set to case! Your version is super happy and fun even down to the base layer. I had to go look up that set to see why you were excited about it and it is a fabulous set. Great case!!!!!

What a happy happy card. It just made me smile as soon as I saw it. Lucky your stamp set arrived yesterday because that medallion really helps capture the essence of the inspiration cards. Love that you combined it with that super yellow sunshine paper and those fun flowers. Great card.
