I hope this doesn't get too boring! I wanted to share a series of cards I made with a set of 8 flat unfinished wooden eggs from Dollar Tree's Easter stuff. I brought them to my mom's in Florida with me then realized I forgot to bring any paint so I ran to a local DT and grabbed some pink and blue acrylic paint, along with some tempera in white (only white paint they had) to try to make paler shades of the colors. Spoiler: it worked but not that great. I had to add a LOT of tempera to have any effect at all on the color and it made the paint pretty watery. Still managed to get all the eggs painted and then I tried different ways to decorate them and turn them into cards.
For these two I used a recent Spellbinders hydrangea embossing folder to emboss rectangles of light purple cardstock and mounted on premade white cards. I stamped the sentiment in Versamark embossing ink and heat embossed using gold detail powder. I glued rick rack (from Dollar Tree easter decor assortments) to the eggs which took a LOT of time and glue to get to stick and I ended up letting them dry under books for an hour to make sure the rickrack stayed stuck! I attached the egg to the card with foam tape.
USEIT2023: Used up a whole package of recently purchased wood easter eggs and a brand new embossing folder from Spellbinders. The Easter greeting is quite old, one of those stamps that has seen an Easter return each year for at least the last five years.
