Today we are sending wordy bits of cheer to Claire, who is the life of any party and loves to "chat" you up. Claire is cousin to this week's hostess, Jen (aka Jennifrann), and she challenged us to use lots of words on our cards.
I had planned to do a card with newsprint flowers, but when I looked in the Gallery this morning I was so charmed by all the fun cards with critters and this cutie by Anne (aka jdmommy) sealed the deal: MMTPT765, Hugs by jdmommy at Splitcoaststampers. Cue my new HUG die and favorite PB critter set with a hedgie.
I stamped my bg with my favorite color of metallic ink, honeydew, which is a light green. I was going to use text but thought this script was more lighthearted and fun. Stamped and die cut a gazzilion flowers and leaves and arranged them on the card. The HUG is direct to paper CP ink to keep the colors consistent. Hedgie is fussy cut and because I wanted a bit more height, I added the white butterfly on his nose. This is a full butterfly die cut that I folded in half so it would look like a side view and planted it on his nose. This isn't a novel design as PB featured hedgies, other cute critters and flowers intertwined in the letters of their new dies, so I CASEd them. And, since Claire is Jen's relative, I had to add a bit of orange and some stickles.
I hope the many caring cards headed Claire's way will make her smile and feel supported. She is in pain while she endures this current round of chemo so I would imagine any distraction is welcome. We were also asked to add confetti to our card. So those extra flowers and leaves and a bunch of hearts will go into mine. And, I hope your day feels like you have been showered with fun confetti and that you don't have to be the one to clean it up. TFL

This is delightful with the bright, sunny colors, huge HUG and sweet hedgie (I have that PB set with that hedgie, too - love the critters). I like the soft color of the script in the background, as well. I've been watching the current series of Jill Foster videos, too - love her work!

Boy, Debbie, you nailed this in so many ways! The pretty flowers are a breath of Springtime, the BIG HUG is perfect for Claire, the hedgehog is just as cute as can be and the subtle script BG is a great complement to the design. Oh, and that white butterfly is icing on the cake! Well done!!
