I've used the pencil indenting technique for the lighthouse, the clouds and the waves, I couldn't find any wax paper, so tried with tracing paper but it worked better for me directly on the paper

I would think the tracing paper would give too much friction and be very hard, I assumed that the point of the waxed paper was slightly to transfer the wax and also to reduce the friction between the stylus and the paper. You got a great effect with just indenting your paper, lovely textures especially in the lighthouse. That's a neat way of adding the impression of brickwork.
