I wanted to include Tim Holtz's plaid technique for Toni's challenge, so I started out with that. You put little dots of colour along the felt, making sure to include a couple of dots of one stronger colour. Add blending solution, and then apply in straight strokes pulling it along the glossy card. Apply more ink and solution if necessary before rotating the card and repeating at right angles. I'll try and find the link later...
Then I added a peacock grunge border stamp from Studio Light. Added some chunky gold and Aged Teal ep for my metallics, and discovered that the card I had used didn't heat well, but as this is a messy mixed media card, it didn't matter that it cockled a little. I added it to the base with double-sided tape so it's pretty flat again. (Base was sponged with antique linen and then stamped with the feather in the two DOX inks.
I stamped the feather on a manilla tag after spattering it with gold, embossed with clear and then coloured with Twinkling H2Os. From a hardware shop but not on my card, I used drywall mesh tape for adding the stencil butters (Lime Green and Turquoise). Popped the tag up on foam, with a cheesecloth strip through the hole. Added sequins and a gold Stickles border interspersed with a little black.
Finished it off with a sentiment from Unity cut apart and popped up on foam.
Here's the link to Tim's blog post, but all the images appear to be missing :-(. They were there the last time I provided a link about three years ago. https://timholtz.com/12-tags-of-christmasday-3-2/

You used my favorite color combo on the bg plaid....love that! I really like that grunge border stamp...very cool. And of course anything with a tag always gets my attention...also love the little accents of sequins, the words, the cheesecloth. looks like you had fun making this.

It sounds like fun to make the plaid and your card is wonderful. May have been a little time consuming but, if so, worth it.

Sabrina, this is just such a cool collage style card. Love the colors you chose- and the grungy vibe. Would so work in Seattle- near where we live. A favorite.
