A new technique and I had to try it! I did, however, discover some short cuts. I cut my strip from a 12X12, making it 2 1/4 x 11 1/2. After trimming off 1/2", I scored at 1/2" for the hinge, eliminating the need for a separate hinge. I used my MISTI and the hardwood stamp to create the wood look. After scoring as suggested in the tutorial, I cut the slats with the straw die from the Coffee Cafe set. It worked like a charm! If you don't have that die set, you can also use the "rail" from SU's Barn Door. I was beyond excited to discover this trick! I used a small oval and paint chip samples to make the eggs, glued them to the braces (I only used 2) and sat the bunny on the crate for an adorable Easter card.

Love the way you added your sentiment and that bunny is beyond cute. What a great idea to look through the die stash and see if any could be used for those slats. I admit it was the part keeping me from trying this. I finally just cut them with an Exacto knife but dies are certainly the way to go! Great card!
